Dr Tamrat Abebe Zeleke 

Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, Addis Ababa University

Dr Tamrat’s research focuses on identification of factors related to host and parasite genetics that determine the clinical presentation and outcome of infectious diseases. In his role as Director of Tinkur Anbessa Specialised Hospital Diagnostic Laboratory, he recently expanded the capacity of the laboratory to conduct COVID-19 testing and undertake molecular screening for HPV. He oversees implementation of laboratory activities in Ethiopia.
