WP 1
Understanding Epidemiology
WHAT WE DO
Gather evidence on key zoonotic causes of Acute Febrile Illnesses
We are conducting cross-sectional observational studies in health facilities to investigate key zoonotic causes of Acute Febrile Illness (AFI) in Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia. By sampling across countries, in diverse sites with different urban-rural gradients, we aim to produce comprehensive findings that reflect real-world variations, ensuring the relevance and applicability of our results across different health systems and countries in the region.
WHERE WE WORK
Our study locations cover a wide range of malaria-endemic areas and ecological contexts, with a special emphasis on rural regions and informal urban settlements where livestock-keeping and environmental factors heighten the risk of zoonotic diseases.
