Irene is a Public Health specialist and who served as Principal Investigator on malaria research projects supported by the International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID) and the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH). She also participated in Emergency clinical response with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). She is committed in supporting high-quality clinical research aimed at improving child health outcome.
