These first hand challenges motivates her to find solutions to for children’s health in such settings. She was honoured to establish a microbiology laboratory aimed at improving diagnostic capacity for infectious and zoonotic diseases in underserved areas. She also dedicate time to volunteer work with children in both rural and urban communities, which has enriched her view of childhood illness and the strength of families. Additionally, she helped to develop antimicrobial stewardship protocols in a level 5 hospital, aiming to promote the careful use of medications in young patients. Above all, her deep love for children guides all her work, driving a heartfelt commitment to their care and well-being.

At the ZAFI project Dr. Aloo will focus on the clinical aspects of zoonotic illnesses in children. She will contribute to the frontline experience in diagnosing and managing febrile illnesses to support data collection and analysis.
